Crescendo Program Highlights

Performance Opportunities
​Two or three times a year, Crescendo players present dedicated recital-style concerts featuring the music they have prepared with their coaches. Musicians participating during prior seasons have performed in concert halls and in the community, including at Williamsburg Middle School auditorium, St. George's Episcopal Church, The Jefferson Senior Living Community, Sunrise Senior Living Communities, and the Lubber Run Amphitheater, the latter on stage with the Arlington Philharmonic.

Guest Artists
​Crescendo values the interaction and insight that comes from exposing its young musicians to outstanding Guest Artists in the field through master classes and other special events. Guest Artists may include professional string quartets, solo performers, and even non‐classical professional musicians.

Weekly Rehearsals
Crescendo musicians receive Instruction in chamber music techniques including ensemble leadership, sound development, ensemble identity, style analysis, performance techniques, music selection, and a refined sense of peer collaboration and communication. Rehearsals are held once a week on Monday evenings from September-May.

Program Fees
​The Annual Membership Fee for the 2023-2024 season is $750. Membership includes weekly coaching by professional musicians, Guest Artist sessions, and at least two performances per year.
